A childhood full of music
Luis Negri was born in 1967 in Herten, Germany, into an Italian family of musicians, and spent his childhood in Buenos Aires. He grew up surrounded by instruments, rehearsals and concerts — a creative household where music was the daily language. That world would shape everything he made afterwards.
The Negri Case
At nineteen he returned to Germany and opened a specialised workshop making cases for violins. There the trademark ‘Negri Case’ was born. Within a few short years his work had become synonymous with exceptional quality, function and beauty, and was sought after by the owners of some of the oldest and most precious violins in the world.
Guardian of masterpieces
Over three decades Luis has made cases for numerous Stradivari and Guarneri violins, many of them valued at more than ten million dollars. Some of the great names of the violin count among his most loyal patrons.
From the violin to the box bag
The same hands, the same rigour, a new instrument. Drawing on his knowledge of upholstery and marquetry, Luis brought the case-maker’s craft into the world of luxury accessories and created his first handbag collection. The box bag became the signature of the house: a small, perfect case for the essentials of the person who carries it — timeless pieces that stand apart from passing trends.
